Dante™ to 4 x AES3 out – module
The Dante to 4xAES3 out – module extracts eight audio channels from Dante data stream and changes them into digital AES/EBU format (4x AES3). The resolution is 24 bits. The main field of application for this module is to provide audio signals for amplifier racks. The Brooklyn II module from Audinate is the heart of the the Dante to 4xAES3 out – module. This makes sure that the module fits perfectly in an existing Dante network. The routing, that means which eight audio channels are chosen for output, is done by the Dante-Contoller from Audinate, as same as with all other Dante devices. The Dante-Contoller also is used to set the system-clock with common values from 44.1 kHz to 192 kHz.
Of course the Dante to 4xAES3 out – module supports the redundant signal distribution, which is typical for Dante, by a primary and a secondary data stream. The system supervises constantly if the source, which is routed to one of the outputs, does exist: If the source fails or if the primary and secondary data streams are broken, the system realizes this error and shows it on the module´s frontpanel: It turns of the clock of the concerning channel (or in link-mode the clock of all channels). Therewith it generates the switchover condition between digital and analog fault-back input, as used in many amplifiers.
